Internet is a group of interconnected computers which are connected with each other through data communication channels. Internet uses standard Internet Protocol {IP} to serve millions of user worldwide.

In other words Internet is a network of networks which contains millions of public, government and private data.

The information travels over internet in the following ways:-

• The information is broken into small size bits called packets.

• A header is added to each packet.

• Each packet is sent from computer to computer.

• At the destination, the packets are examined. If any packet is missing or damaged a message is sent asking for them to resent.

• The packets are now ressembled into their original form and sent to recipient.
