State Joule's law of heating.
Why we need a 5 A fuse for an electric iron which consumes 1 kW
power at 220 V ?
Why is it impracticable to connect an electric bulb and an electric
heater in series ?

Joule's Law states that

Explanation:

Joule's first law, also known as the Joule–Lenz law,[1] states that the power of heating generated by an electrical conductor is proportional to the product of its resistance and the square of the current:

Answers for questions of heat and power are written below-

Joule's law of heating calculates the amount of heat released when a current passes through the wire of particular resistance at a particular time. It is mathematically represented as

Q = I²RT where Q is heat, I is current R is resistance and t is temperature.

The current required for an appliance with 1kW power and 220V current is 4.5 Amp. This is calculated by the formula - P = V/I. Here, p is power, v is voltage and I is current. Therefore, the fuse required will be of 5Amp.

The electrical bulb and electrical heater should not be connected in series because-

Current in series remains the same, but both the appliances have different resistance. Hence, more or low current than required, available for any appliance in this series, will damage it.

Moreover, in series connection damage in one appliance doesn't allow the second appliance to function as current does not move. Thus if one appliance fails, the other one will not work.
