State Law of Definite proportion
Answers
Answer:
every element combine with other element in a fixed ratio to form compound & it is independent of source of origin , methods of preparation.
ex - ratio of H:O is 2:1 in all type of water...it is fixed for river water , sea water , Ganga water or any other water
Law of Definite proportion :
Statement
The compound can be obtained from anywhere but the ratio of components present in it remains unchanged / same.
Means it does not depend on the method of preparation or source from where it is obtained.
*This law was given by proust*
EXAMPLE
WATER obtained from any source always contains the same ratio of H and O molecules.
H : O
2 : 16
1 : 8
The source may be»»
- SEA water
- Ganga Jal
- Rain water
- Tap water
Another example can be taken as that of Ammonia {NH3}
It always contains 1 molecule of Nitrogen and 3 molecules of Hydrogen always combined in a fixed ratio.
THEIR MASS RATIO ALSO REMAINS THE SAME!!
