Question:-

State the laws of Gravitation.

Firstly , What is Gravitation?

Answer:-

the force of attraction between any two objects by the virtue of their masses is called gravitation.

Laws Of Gravitation:-

In 1686, Newton Proposed that every particle of matter in the universe attracts every other particles with a force called as universal gravitation . he gave the following laws of gravitation :

" every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their mass is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. The direction of the force is along the line joining the two particles".

Let latest considered two particles A and B of masses M1 and M2 and separated by a distance R. Then the force of gravitation acting on the two particle is given by :

\sf{ \rm \red{F∝ \: m1 \times m2 }} \\ \\ \sf{ \rm \red{F \:∝ \: \frac{1}{ {R \: }^{2} } }} \: or \: \sf{ \rm \red{F∝ \: \frac{m1 \times m2}{R \: ^{2} } }} \\ \\

Where , G is called the universal gravitation constant. SI unit of gravitational constant (G) is Nm²kg-² or kg -¹ s-² .
