There are five laws of friction:

1.When an object is moving, the friction is proportional and perpendicular to the normal force (N)

2.Friction is independent of the area of contact so long as there is an area of contact

3.The coefficient of static friction is slightly greater than the coefficient of kinetic friction

4.Within rather large limits, kinetic friction is independent of velocity

5.Friction depends upon the nature of the surfaces in contact

The law of limiting fiction are: -

1) The force of limiting friction depends upon the nature of surface in contact and tangentially to the interface between the two surface.

2) The direction of limiting friction or force is always opposite to the direction of tendency of motion.

3) Limiting friction doesn't depend on the area in contact.

4) The limiting friction is directly proportional to the normal reaction.

Hope it helps you ☺
