Newlands is an english scientist who tried to match the elements on their basis of chemical and physical properties by increasing atomic masses.he started from hydrogen ended with thorium.He concluded that every 8th element possess the similar properties of the 1 st element.He compared with the octaves in music.Thus names laws of octaves.
