State lenz Law. Explain by giving example that lenz law is a consequence of conservation of energy?
Answers
Lenz's law states that the current induced in a circuit due to a change or a motion in a magnetic field is so directed as to oppose the change in flux and to exert a mechanical force opposing the motion.
According to this law, The direction of induced emf is such that it tends to produce a current which opposes the change (in magnetic flux) that causes the induction.Lenz's law upholds the general principle of the conservation of energy. If the current were induced in the opposite direction, its action would spontaneously draw the bar magnet into the coil in addition to the heating effect, which would violate conservation of energy.
Answer:
Lenz law is in accordance with the law of conservation of energy. See induced EMF produces a current that opposes the change in flux, because a change in flux means a change inenergy. Energy can enter or leave, but not instantaneously. ... A repulsive force acts on the bar magnet due to the current induced in the coil.
