The mirror formula is defined as a formula that gives the bond between the overall distance of the image v,  focal length of the mirror and distance of the object known as u.  

The mirror formula is 1/v + 1/u = 1/f.

This kind of formula is only valid for different kinds of spherical mirrors and also for various positions of the object.
