Newton's Second Law of Motion says that acceleration (gaining speed) happens when a force acts on a mass (object). Riding your bicycle is a good example of this law of motion at work. Your bicycle is the mass. Your leg muscles pushing pushing on the pedals of your bicycle is the force.

Explanation:

1.Newton’s 1st law states that a body at rest or uniform motion will continue to be at rest or uniform motion until and unless a net external force acts on it.

ex.,Wearing a seat belt in a car while driving is an example of Newton’s 1st law of motion.

2.Newton’s 2nd law states that the acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.

ex.,If you use the same force to push a truck and a car, the car will have more acceleration than the truck because the car has less mass.

Mathematically, we express the second law of motion as follows:

f∝dP/dt

⇒f∝mv−mu/t

⇒f∝m(v−u)/t

⇒f∝ma

⇒f=kma

3.The Newton’s 3rd law states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

ex.,when you jump, your legs apply a force to the ground, and the ground applies and equal and opposite reaction force that propels you into the air.
