Newton's Second Law of motion states that the rate of change of momentum of an object is proportional to the applied unbalanced force in the direction of the force.
F = mv - mu / t
= m ( V - u ) / t
F = m a
Proved
When a mass of 1 kg produces an acceleration of 1m/s^2 then 1N of force is applied..
F = mv - mu / t

F = m a

It is Newton's Second law.
According to it the rate of change of linear momentum is directly proportional to the external force applied.
F α dp/dt
F = k dp/dt
Now,
p (momentum) = mv
So,
F = k d(mv)/dt
F = k md(v)/dt
F = k ma
(As, dv/dt = a)
Experimentally k =1
So,
