Newton’s First Law – If the external force applied on an object is zero, then if the object is moving will continue to move at the same speed and if the object is at rest will continue to be at rest.

Newton’s second law= The magnitude of the force applied on any object is equal to the product of mass and the acceleration acquired by the object i.e, F = m.a where m = mass of the object and a = acceleration of the object

To prove first from the second law just make F = 0 in the equation so will get m.a = 0

mass can’t be zero it means acceleration (a) = 0. There are only two cases when the acceleration of an object is zero -one if the object is at rest and another if object is having uniform speed/velocity. It means in the absence of external force if the object is moving it will continue to move with the same speed and if the object is at rest it will continue to be in rest- This is newton’s first law of motion
