Every object in the universe attracts other object by a force of attraction, called gravitation, which is directly proportional to the product of masses of the objects and inversely proportional to the square of distance between them. This is called Law of Gravitation or Universal Law of Gravitation.

The falling of a body from a height towards the earth under gravitational force is called Free fall. Such a body is called freely falling body. The acceleration of an object falling freely towards the earth does not depend on mass of object. During free fall, heavier as well as light objects accelerate at same rate.

Hope it helps you ✌

Answer:

all bodies in the universe attracteach other . the force of mutual attraction between two bodies is directly proportional to the square of the distance between them

if the bodies masses m1 and m2 are separated by a distance d, then

F=m1 m2

F =1/d2

combining the two we get F=Gm1m2/d2

G is the gravitational constant the value of G is 6.67×10 Nm2/ kg2.itwas Henry cavidish a scientist who determine the value of G for the first time through expermeant

this is Newton's universal law of gravitation
