Explanation:

(a) Voltmeter is the device used for measuring potential differences. Voltmeter is always connected in parallel to the resistance.

(b) Generally the resistance of Voltmeter is higher than the resistances which we will use.As they are in parallel the voltage across them is equal.

Iv=V÷Rv

As Rv is large the value of V÷Rv

is taken to be zero. So the value of current is zero and the electric energy used by this is zero.
