The drawback is that it failed to prove the stability of atoms. According to that model, the electrons revolved around the nucleus. The electrons are negatively charged and nucleus is positively charged. That is not possible because when the electrons revolve around the positively charged nucleus, they would undergo acceleration and would radiate energy. Eventually, they would run out of energy and crash into the nucleus which is not possible.
