In Alternating Current, the value of current changes continuously with time.
In Direct Current(DC), the value of current is constant with time
...hope this helps !☺

HEY FOLK...
As you are concern with only single and main difference, so In direct current (DC), the electric charge or current u can say, only flows in one direction.
whereas..
Alternating current (AC) changes direction periodically. The voltage in AC circuits also periodically reverses because the current changes direction.

Thank you
HOPE IT HLPS..!
