In solids, the molecules are arranged in a definite pattern that cannot be changed.
This property makes the solid particles rigid and renders a definite shape and volume to these particles.
On the contrary, the liquid molecules are loosely packed and change their positions freely.
Thus, the liquid particles have no particular shape and simply assume the shape of the containers, where they are stored.

" Maintenace of shape "
Liquids can't mage their shape as solid can mange it easily.
This is because soild's particle of matter are tightly holder together and thus don't allow any to leave its position while liquids don't have so hence, they movement in thier constitent particles.
