carbon tetrachloride will burn to form carbon dioxide

you could check the presence of carbon dioxide by passing this gas in lime water

in presence of carbon dioxide lime water turns milky

when you burn sodium chloride in the flame, it will not burn that easily.

whereas if you take Carbon Tetrachloride it will burn to produce carbon dioxide gas which you can test easily.
