Effect of air pollution on fishes:

  • The burning of fossil fuel produces carbon dioxide.
  • When the carbon dioxide mixes with the atmosphere, it produces carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide and other harmful gases.
  • When these gases mix with the moisture present in the clouds, it forms acid.
  • After attaining saturation, the acids fall as rain which is Acid Rain.
  • When acids mix with lakes or ocean or other water resources, it makes unsuitable for the fishes to live.

Effect of water pollution on fishes:

  • Now-a-days, to increase the yield and productivity, the farmers use more pesticides and insecticides which are chemicals.
  • Due to over usage, these chemical has harmful effect on the soil and makes the soil more acidic.
  • When the water from this acidic soil is let into river, it makes unsuitable for the fishes to live in it.
