PASCAL'S LAW OF TRANSMISSION OF PRESSURE -
→ Pascal's law of transmission of pressure states that the the pressure exerted anywhere in a confined liquid is transmitted equally and undiminished in all directions throughout the liquid.
DETAILED EXPLANATION -
→ We know that the pressure due to liquid at a point in a liquid of density p at a depth h below below its free surface is P = hpg. Obviously, the pressure difference between any two points x and y in a stationary liquid will depend on the difference in vertical height (∆h) between these points. Now if by some means, the pressure at one point x is increased, the pressure at other point y must also increase by the same amount so that the difference in pressure between the two points x and y may remain same. Thus pressure exerted at a point x is equally transmitted to the point y. This is Pascal's law.
