Answer:

Postulates of Dalton's Atomic Theory. The matter is made up of indivisible particles known as atoms. ... This can also be stated as all the atoms of an element have identical mass while the atoms of different elements have different masses. Atoms of different elements combine in fixed ratios to form compounds.

Dalton is a scientist who formulated certain postulates to define structure of atom....

His postulates are:

1.Each element is composed of extremely small particles called atoms.

2.Atoms of all given element are identical, the atoms of different elements are different and have different properties.

3.Atoms are neither created not destroyed in chemical reactions.

4.Compounds are formed when more than one element combine, a given compound always has the same relative number and kind of atoms.

5. When elements combine together they always combine in ratio of whole numbers

6.Atoms of a single element may combine in different ratios when they form more than one compound

7. An atom is the smallest particle that takes part in chemical reaction.

But his theory was discarded due to certain discoveries made later.

Foe ex:The first postulate was discarded when they found sub atomic particles like protons, electrons and neutrons

Hope this helped !!!! ..
