Answer:

Principle: When a current-carrying coil is suspended in a uniform magnetic field it is acted upon by a torque. Under the action of this torque, the coil rotates and the deflection in the coil in a moving coil galvanometer is directly proportional to the current flowing through the coil.

working : The underlying principle for the working of a moving coil galvanometer is that when a current-carrying conductor is placed inside a magnetic field, it experiences a magnetic force. ... The high resistance of galvanometer can disturb the original current flowing through the circuit.

The radial magnetic field is applied to a moving coil galvanometer to produce a constant torque on the coil. It is applied to measure the relation between the current and the angle which is non-linear such that the current cannot be measured easily.
