Hello

The answer is weight  . Weight ( w ) is a force which always acts towards vertically downwards.  That’s why whenever we throw any thing upward it returns to the ground , I.e vertically downwards because the force is acting downwards ( the force of gravity )

It’s formulas is => w = mg      Here , m is the mass which constant and g is acceleration due to gravity

the weight of a body is always acting downwards

it's the measure of gravitational force acting on a body.

we know, weight=m×g

mass is an independent quantity, irrespective of what the weight is and it is constant. so we can't really define the direction of mass.
