1) food should be kept in air tight container because to prevent it from rancidity which is oxidation of fats and oils, because in doing so the food doesnt comes in contact with oxygen.

2) Iron articles lose their shine gradually when exposed to the atmosphere. Iron is a reactive metal and when exposed to the atmosphere it reacts with atmospheric oxygen and moisture to form an iron oxide, commonly called rust. .As a result, iron articles lose their shine gradually
