(i) Chips manufacturers fill the packets with nitrogen to keep the chips fresh for a long period of time as nitrogen is a preservative.

(ii) Iron articles are shining new but get coated with reddish brown substance after some time as due to moisture it gets a coat of rust on it.

(ii) Due to rusting of iron (corrosion).
