Answer:

when a plant cell is kept in a hypertonic solution the cell shrink because in a hypertonic solution concentration of water is more in the surrounding than in the cell .So due to diffusion water moves to high concentration to low concentration due to which the plant cell shrink

Answer:

plant cells shrink when kept in hypertonic solution because the concentration of water outside the solution is more. Thus osmosis takes place .In this process the water inside the plant cells moves from lower concentration to higher concentration .Thus it gets shrinked
