HEYA MATE !
1) Chips manufacturers usually flush bags of chips with gas such as nitrogen: this is to prevent them from getting oxidised.
2) Iron articles loose their shine gradually:Iron when exposed to moist air for a long time acquires a coating of a brown flaky substance called rust which results it in loosing it's shine.
3) Keeping food in air tight containers help in preventing rancidity. It does not allow air (oxygen) to come in contact with the food and this prevents oxidation of food. Thus the food never become rancid and its smell and taste remains the same. That is why food items are kept in closed containers.
