The Reservations were added to the constitution of India due BR Ambedkar.

As Dalit people or u can say the SCs and STs face problems like untouchability, they are provided with the reservation to get government and some private jobs easily

Reservations play an important role in providing social justice to Dalits and other marginalised groups of the society by giving them opportunities to get education, jobs, etc. easily and prevent them from being backwards or unrepresentated in the country.
