Differences:-

(1) The clinical thermometer has a very short range (35°C to 42°C) whereas a laboratory thermometer has a large temperature range (usually from, -10°C to 110°C).

(2) The clinical thermometer has a link in its tube to prevent the back flow of mercury into the bulb whereas a laboratory thermometer has no kink.

(3) The clinical thermometer measures temperature more accurately ( up to 0.1°C) than a laboratory thermometer ( which usually measures up to 1°C).
