Snell's law is also known as the second law of refraction.
It states that when a monochromatic ray travelsfrom one medium to the another medium the ratio of its angle of incidence to the angle of angle of refraction is known as the refractive index of the second medium.
μ-sin i/sin r
or in terms of speed in the different medium of the monochromatic ray of light
μ=c/v
