Hyderabad did not use fly shuttle in small scale industries

Option (a)

EXPLANATION:

The flying shuttle was one of the major developments in the industrialisation of weaving in the early Industrial Revolution. It allowed a single weaver to weave several wider fabrics and was mechanised allowing for automated machine looms. The flight shuttle had greatly fast-tracked the previous hand processes and halved the work force.

Where a broad-cloth loom weaver was previously required on both sides, a single operator could now operate this weaver. Production increases due to the flying shuttles were higher than the spinning industry capability of the day and the powerful spinning machines, beginning with a spinning jenny and an aquatic system, were developed and culminated in a spinning mule that could produce strong, fine thread in the quantities required.

During the 2nd half of the 20th century wavers started using looms with a fly shuttle. This raised the productivity/worker, speeded up production and decreased demand for labour. By 1941, over 35 per cent of handlooms in India were attached with fly shuttles and in places such as Madras Bengal, Cochin, Travancore, and Mysore the proportion was around 70-80 per cent
