the answer is green revolution . actually green revolution  is a 'package technology' introduced in India in 1950's based on the use of chemical fertilizers ,hyv seeds, irrigation facilities specially for wheat crop in the states of punjab ,haryana ,and western uttar pradesh . as a result India became self sufficient in food grains .
