Achievements of Qutubuddin Aibak:

  • Qutubuddin Aibak was considered as the founder of the Slave dynasty and founder of Turkish rule in India. Soon after the death of Muhammad of Ghor, he succeeded to the throne of Delhi.  
  • With a great sense of caution and strategies, he succeeded in strengthening his position over Delhi and Lahore itself. He conquered Ghazni for a short period of time yet did not allow his own relatives to occupy any of the Indian territories.
  • He helped the governor of Bengal to occupy his position thereby in return they latter agreed to pay the annual tribute to Qutub. From being a slave to most trusted lieutenant he earned throne with his merit.
  • He was an excellent diplomat. Though he could not build stability on the powers he paved a way out for his successors to hold control over Delhi.
