Answer:

Shah Jahan constructed a number of beautiful buildings which he designed himself. All his buildings were studded with jewels, pearls, jems, gold and silver. These buildings are the finest mixture of Persian and the Indian art and architecture. He constructed the Taj Mahal in the memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaj Mahal . It was constructed of pure white marble. It took twenty years for completing it and about 3 crore rupees were spent on it. It is one of the seven wonders of the world. He also constructed the new city of Delhi, named as Shahjahanabad . The Red Fort and the Jama Masjid were built in this city to increase its beauty. A number of beautiful buildings such as Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan -i-Khas, Rang Mahal, Moti Mahal were built in the Red Fort . The Diwan-i-Khas was the most magnificent of all the buildings. It was decorated with the precious gems, stones and gold. The Peacock throne, on which Shah Jahan sat, was placed on the white marble platform. The throne was supported by twelve pillars. Each pillar had two peacocks, studded with gems. The Kohinoor gem was also used in this throne. The cost of this throne was one crore rupees and it was completed in about seven years .
