The British exploited the economic resources of India and were unabashedly sell abroad to London to advance British industries

The beginning of English education, the spread of the work of the Christian missionaries and the altering of the Hindu law of property with a sight to make easy the conversion of Hindus to Christianity alarmed many traditional Indians.

They discriminated with Indians racially at every step.

Dissatisfaction was pervasive among the military rank and file under the British.

There was great variation in treatment between the Indian and the British complement in terms of salary and other benefits.
