Important characteristics of Anode rays: (1) They consists of heavy positively charged particles. (ii) The charge to mass ratio of these particles was found to be dependent upon the type of gas used in the discharge tube. (iii) The charge to mass ratio for hydrogen gas is found to be equal to that of protons. Anode rays get deflected into a direction opposite to that of cathode rays in electrical and magnetic fields.
