Matter is any substance that has mass and takes up substance by having volume.

The products which are used by humans in their every day to day use are more or less formed by atoms as per their space, volume and mass. It does not include origination of light and sound.

Explanation:

Matter is classified into four states:

1) Solid

2) Liquid

3) Gas

4) Plasma

The characteristic of a pure matter is that it have only one kind of atoms. It has fixed chemical and physical properties. For example A diamond is a pure carbon is also a pure substance.

Carbon as many as other elements can take different physical forms with different physical character while remaining a pure substance.

It is a good conductor of electricity and even it's melting point ,boiling point are constant. They are stable in nature.
