The causes of the 1905 Revolution were: Campaign by liberals to bring the Tsar under the parliament Steep rise in prices of essential goods in 1904 Increase in membership of worker’s associations. Dismissal of four workers followed by a massive strike in which 110,000 workers participated demanding improvement in working conditions. Attack by police upon the procession of workers led by Father Gapon resulting in 100 deaths known as Sunday

The Ramonov empire has been in decline since the very late 1800’s. however since the 1905 revolution that were characterised bythe mass shooting of peaceful demonstrators on that fateful day, the Tsar Nicholas throne was now on a steady downfall with no chance of reverse.

The revolution led to the introduction of Duma (Parliament assembly) which to an extent was a thorn on the Tsar as this means that shedding some of his authority to the assembly. To the people, this was more or less like a stepping stone in their attempt to question the rationale behind their King's pedigree as the overral leader of the empire.
It was also an eye opener to the common man on the street to realise the full magnitude of the royal family's incompetency in dealing with the vast empire's numerous problems. This acted as a fertile ground for Marxist's ideas to gain a foothold as communist slogan of ‘from each according to his needs and from each according to his ability' became more or less like a national anthem to the masses who have been oppressed for centuries.
