State the colour change, if a few drops of dilute sulphuric acid are added to the weak alkaline solutions of the following indicators.

i) methyl orange.
ii) phenolphthalein
iii) litmus solution

1.If we add few drops of dil.sulphuric acid in methyl orange then it changes its colour from orange to red.

2.If we add few drops of dil.sulphuric acid in phenolpthalien then the solution will become colourless.Since it is is an indicator.

3.If we add few drops of dil.sulphuric acid in litmus solution then it is neutral solution .Since weak acid when reacts with weak base it neutralises to form a neutral solution.
