To find:-

  • Common difference of A.P.

Solution:-

Our A.P is

 \sf  \dfrac{3}{2} , \dfrac{1}{2} , \dfrac{ - 1}{2} , \dfrac{ - 3}{2} .....

We know,

Common difference = a₂ - a₁

a₁ = 3/2

a₂ = 1/2

So,

Common difference = 1/2 - 3/2

= -2/2

= -1

Verification:-

We know that,

General form of A.P is

a , a + d, a + 2d , a+ 3d.......

a = 3/2

a + d = 3/2 + (-1) = 1/2

a + 2d = 3/2 + 2×(-1) = -1/2

a + 3d = 3/2 + 3 × (-1) = -3/2

Therefore,

Common difference = -1
