-The earth is located at an average distance of about 148 million km from the sun.It is considered as the optimum location in the Solar system.Among the other seven planets,those near the sun are too hot and those away from the sun are too cold

-The earth has optimum conditions for the origin ,growth and survival of various forms of life.If the heat energy received from the sun increases or decreases by about 10% ,then a very large part of the earth would become unsuitable for living organisms
