critical velocity(Vc) is the minimum velocity required to put the satellite into orbit.let velocity of the satellite be V.
escape velocity of earth is Ve
The conditions for those possible trajectories are:
1. When Vc>V, the satellite will not go into an orbit and will fall back on earth at some point.
2. When V=Vc, the satellite will follow a circular path.
3. When Ve>V>Vc, the satellite will follow an elliptical path.
4. When V>Ve, the satellite will follow a hyperbolic path.
