Haemoglobin is the respiratory pigment in blood which combines with four molecules of oxygen and delivers oxygen to body cells. If haemoglobin becomes deficient in a person's bodies, it will cause a decrease in oxygen carrying capacity of blood, thus the body cells will not receive sufficient amount of oxygen and the person will face breathing problems. It may also lead to anemia which occurs when haemoglobin is low.
