State the difference between animal cell and plant cell

a) Plant cells possess cell wall.


b) Chloroplasts are present in plant cells.


c) Plant cells are almost rectangular in shape.


d) Plant cells possess large vacuoles.


e) Cilia rarely occur in plant cells.


f) Higher plants do not possess centrioles.


g) Plant cells have no or less number of lysosomes.



2.)  ANIMAL CELLS

a) Animal cells do not possess cell wall.

Plant cell

1. The outermost covering of the plant cell is the cell wall which is formed of cellulose.

2. Plastids are present.

3. Large vacuole are present.

4. Centrioles are absent but polar caps are present.

5. Golgi apparatus is in the form of sub- units, called dictysomes.

6. Plant cells have a cell wall.

7. The Endoplasmic reticulum is present.

Animal cell

1. The outermost covering is the plasma membrane.

2. Plastids are absent.

3. No or small vacoules are present.

4. Centrioles are present within centrosome.

5. Prominent are highly complex golgi apparatus is present near nucleus.

6. Animal cells do not have a cell wall.
