Heterotrophs ::
Heterotrophs cannot produce organic compounds from inorganic sources and therefore rely on consuming other organisms in the food chain.

autotrophs can make (manufacture) their own food . eg- plants
hetrotrophs cannot make their food and they either directly or indirectly depend on the plants ( autotrophs) for their food. eg- animals
