Those organisms which can prepare their own food by the process of photosynthesis are called as autotrophs. Those organisms which cannot prepare their food and depend on dead and decaying organisms to obtain nutrition are called as heterotrophs.They do not depend on other organisms for their nutrition. They depend on other dead and decaying organisms for their nutrition.
