Answer:

Convex mirror is bulged(curved) outwards.

It has its focus at the back of the reflective surface(+ve).

Concave mirror is curved inwards(like a cave).

It has its focus in front of the reflective surface (-ve).

focal length (f) =

Radius of Curvature (R)/2

Using appropriate sign conventions.

Hope this helps

Differences between convex and concave mirror:

Convex mirror:

1. The reflecting surface is curved outward.

2. After reflection from the mirror the light rays diverge.

3. The image formed due to convex mirror is always virtual and diminished.

4. It is used as rear view mirror.

Concave mirror:

1. The reflecting surface curved inward.

2. After reflection from the mirror the light rays converge.

3. The image formed due to concave mirror is generally real and either diminished or magnified. But when an object placed between vertex and focus it is virtual.

4. It is used in car headlights.
