State the difference between Local Government and Local Self-Government.

The Local government administers the locality where in the officials are appointed by the state .They are entitled to a salary .The officials included are patwari, district Magistrate, The Tehsildar, The Deputy collector ,etc

The self government manages the local affairs of the natives of the area through representatives or by itself it is considered as a democratic body in the real sense.it consists of municipal councillors, sarpanch and the Gram pardhan,etc

local government means "administration of a locality by officials oppointed by the government " whereas local self government means "an elected body enjoying certain powers and serving as administrative unit for local affairs"
