Answer:

Shan Plateau, crystalline massif forming the eastern part of Myanmar (Burma) and forming part of the Indo-Malayan mountain system. The plateau is crossed by the deep trench of the Salween River in the east and is bordered by the upper course of the Irrawaddy Riverto the west.

The Yunnan plateau is situated in China and the Shan plateau in the Shan state of Eastern Myanmar. Both slope steeply on the Westside and rivers such as Mekong and the Salween flow across it. As both the plateau have rivers cutting across them, creating valleys and hence they are referred to as dissected plateaux
