Answer:

The image formed when rays of light meet at a point after reflection/refraction is called real image. The image formed when rays of light appear to meet (when diverging rays are extended) at a point is called a virtual image.

Real Image

Real images are produced by intersecting rays.

Real images can be projected on a screen

Real images are formed by two opposite lens, concave and convex.

Real images are always inverted

Real images are created when rays of light are converged by a convex lens also known as converging lens.

The image is formed on the right-hand side of the lens.

Virtual Image

The image that cannot be obtained on a screen is known as virtual image.

A virtual image is created when rays of light diverge from a concave lens.

A virtual image is formed on the left-hand side of the lens.

Virtual image are produced by diverging rays

Virtual image cannot be projected on screen

Virtual images are always upright while real images are always inverted.
