Adsorption- The phenomenon of attracting and retaining the molecules of a substance on the surface of a solid .The molecules remain on the surface only.
In absorption the molecules of the substance passes through the surface into the bulk of liquid or solid.It gets uniformly distributed throughout the liquid or solid.

Adsorption is the process by which something adheres to the surface of something else without being assimilated into it.
